UTC - what is it?

UTC is an active head tracking clip, a professional alternative for popular Track Clip Pro, yet offering everything that original design does not provide...
Sturdier, more powerful and much better made... and will not break from just looking at it ;)
And above all - wireless and with a battery that allows for several hours of fun per single charge.

For whom?

For all those who want to free themselves from the cables and enjoy perfect tracking signal throughout the entire work time.
Tested by many, loved by everyone.
If you're looking for a for professional solutions, value aesthetics and don't like compromise, you've come to the right place.

Technicall specification:

- Wireless head tracking clip based on 3 IR LED model (active tracking based on infrared diodes).
- Fully compatible with TrackIR (all versions).
- Fully compatible with OpenTrack, FaceTrackNoIR and Free Track.
- Robust design.
- Smooth flexible resin enclosure.
- Same enclosure, 4 differnt variants (3 wireless and 1 cable) - choose the one that suits you best (see details below).
- Guarantee real working time.
- Universal design suitable for your needs - smooth surface on both sides of enclosure without any mounting catches allows you to adjust it to your own needs.
- Compatible with almost every model of bigger headphones.
Don't want to use headphones? No problem. Use a head strap instead (e.g. from a head lamp), mount it to your helmet or even borrow a hairband from your wife... whichever works best for you.
- Left/right side mounting with sticky velcro, double-sided foam tape or sticky zip ties. Be default each UTC copy has a pair of sticky velcro in the box.
- 3 high quality IR LEDs 120°. High FOV (field of view) LEDs allows for way more head movements without losing tracking signal, so in most cases you'll first lose the sight of your monitor than lose tracking.
- Powered by li-po battery.
- Built-in charger allows to charge the battery from any USB port in your PC or from external DC charger (5V - e.g. from your phone) with attached micro USB/USB cable. Note that you can still play while battery is charging. Charging status is marked by 2 LEDs on enclosure (red - charging, green - fully charged).
- Built-in switch (even in cable model).
- Built-in module ensuring constant LED power supply throughout the whole battery working cycle - no nominal voltage drops. LEDs stay bright all the time, ensuring perfect tracking.
- Built-in battery protections controlling work and charge conditions.
- One year warranty.

Hi Hav,

I don't understand one thing. You said that it can work for the track ir, and later you said that it's a power suply to the track clip pro. So, is it a power suply for tracking tools, or wireless Track clip pro ?

May you show us some picture of the fixing solution ?

What is the weight of the system, because it seems big ?

Actually - could be both, depends of prefered version.
Mainly - it's a wireless clip that could be used for open source programs - FreeTrack, FaceTrackNoIR, OpenTrack. It should also works with Track IR as a replacement for Track Clip Pro. Why "should works" instead of "works" with Track IR? Cause UTC has slightly different model dimension (fits to FT, FTNoIR, OT) than Track Clip Pro and I can't tell for sure if this will affect head tracking.
What you see on pictures above is actually fully working finished wireless clip :hum:

Second version - power source for Track Clip Pro:

Image

Uses same parts as wireless clip but without LEDs. Clip Pro is pluged using built-in second micro USB port with attach cable:

Image

Please refer to my previous post:
Track Clip Pro can be pluged to UTC by:
- cutting original USB cable and connect with cabel from UTC (invasive method)
- connect original USB cable directly to additional USB slot in UTC case - no invasive method. Please note this will affect lifetime battery cause there is additional resistor from Clip Pro in circuit, so the voltage must be higher. However resistor can be removed... so it depends what you need.

Weight of wireless version 25-50g depends of used battery (see first post).
Weight of second version - power source for Track Clip Pro - should be 5-10g lighter.

(to Hav: I just said I ordered the lighter wireless model to replace my good old wired emitter, and that I'll drop by to provide some feedback.)

Thanks Daniel for your review and kind words. I don't speak French but uncle Google can help me here to understand all of you quite well

As for your question phoenix - it is possible but not straight from the box. You'll need e.g. cable ties mount like this first:
http://s25.postimg.cc/upjbes0nz/wdm_SMS_1_b.jpg
UTC require a few cm2 flat surface to be properly attached

I'll start ebay selling soon but first things first. There were few issues that needed to be fixed first, that's why UTC v2 came to life.

But for now, just like Bourrinopathe already said - PM me here or at ED forum.

Salut,

Thanks for your support here Daniel :) Sorry, I didn't saw your post III/JG52-Drach.
As Bourrinopathe already said - UTC is an IR emitter, that means it require tracking camera like PS3 Eye or Track IR.
It is designed as a replacement for Track Clip Pro, actually pretty good replacement, even better than I could imagine :hum:
This is confirmed by few people that used Track CLip Pro for years. All of them noticed much better traction with UTC than with TCP.

Salut phoenix,
